UAE UNVEILS NEW LANDMARKS AHEAD OF #2020expo

The UAE Vice-President visited the Expo 2020 Dubai site on Wednesday and unveiled two new landmarks. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, inspected the Expo 2020 Water Feature and the Garden in the Sky observation tower.

In a tweet yesterday His Highness said, “We promise people from all over the world an unprecedented Expo. The 6 months of the event will go down in history for the ideas and inventions that will benefit humanity for years to come.”

The expo is going to be a remarkable event of innovation ideas from diverse cultures, people, business communities from all over the world. Connecting minds, creating the future. Millions of visitors are expected to attend the event, which runs from October 1, 2021, until March 31, 2022.

UAE FLIGHTS: Vaccinated passengers with tourist visas can now travel to the Emirates.

The UAE will receive tourists who have received both doses of a Covid-19 vaccine approved by the World Health Organization (WHO).
This will apply to tourists from countries where travel to the UAE is restricted, as authorities announced on Saturday.
The new directive is applicable from August 30, the Federal Authority for ldentity and Citizenship (1CA) and the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority (NCEMA) said in a joint statement.

As on August 21, the WHO has approved the
following vaccines: Moderna, Pfizer-BioNTech,
Janssen (Johnson & Johnson), Oxford/AstraZeneca, Covishield (Oxford/AstraZeneca formulation), Sinopharm and Sinovac’s CoronaVac.


Those with tourist visas can register their
vaccination certificates on the AIHosn app to
“enjoy the same benefits” that vaccinated
residents in the UAE do, the statement added.

The United Arab Emirates will reopen all of its land, sea and air entry points with Qatar starting Saturday, state news agency (WAM) reported on Friday.
Saudi Arabia announced a breakthrough in ending the Gulf dispute at a summit on Tuesday, with its foreign minister saying Riyadh and its allies would restore all ties with Doha, which wa severed in mid-2017.

Saudi also opened the airspace, land and sea border with Qatar on Tuesday and Qatar Airways began rerouting several flights through Saudi Arabian airspace from yesterday.
The new development comes after the Gulf leaders signed the Al-Ula “solidarity” agreement during the GCC summit held in Al-Ula on Tuesday.

This was disclosed by Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika on Tuesday night by 11pm and 2am UAE time.

He tweeted, UAE confirmed that they will begin issuance of Visas from 8th of October, 2020. Travelers to have a return ticket, hotel booking, negative PCR result & a Health insurance (similar to Schengen requirement). The Federal Government had last week lifted suspension placed on Emirates Airline from flying into Nigeria.

Sirika the minister of aviation had tweeted, the UAE had written Nigeria to state that they agreed to issue visas to Nigerians, saying that based on this, decision had been reached to allow Emirates to fly into Nigeria.
